Never Right Now is April Burton on piano and vocals, and Ken Taylor on guitar. The two met in Boston in 2001 and soon afterward began to write songs together, inspired by local acts such as Jim's Big Ego and The Dresden Dolls. Never Right Now aspire to be 'genre outlaws'; although they can primarily be categorized as alternative folk rock, they refuse to be tied to any particular style and are influenced by artists as diverse as The Decemberists, Tori Amos, and Radiohead. In their music, interwoven piano and guitar melodies provide a base for intimate, thoughtful lyrics, drawing listeners into a unique and involving soundscape. They are currently based in the San Francisco Bay area.
